Domestic Disturbance Leads to Arrest for Battery and Drugs

On February 6th, 2014, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Hot Spring County 911 Dispatch notified Deputy Michael Sealy of a physical domestic disturbance in the 5000 block of Amity Road.  Upon arrival Deputy Sealy stated he could hear a male subject raising his voice inside the residence.  He saw the male subject, later identified as Larry Smith, 62, of Bonnerdale, holding a white trash bag with the female backed into the corner yelling at her.  Deputy Sealy made entry, deescalated the situation and began his investigation into the incident.   Deputy Sealy documented injuries that were observed on the female.  The white trash bag that Smith was holding contained glass jars, containing 5 ounces of marijuana.  A plastic storage bag was located, as well, containing $654.00, which were mostly one dollar bills.  The victim stated that Smith had made threats to kill her prior to the deputy’s arrival.  Smith was arrested and taken to the Hot Spring County Jail.  Charges have been pursued for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver, Terroristic Threatening, and Domestic Battery Third Degree.
